My Review:
I have probably read this book at least 10 times, its on my top five favorite books of all time.I can’t even begin to say how much I love this book, but I will try.
First of all, this book is based on the song Scarborough Fair. This makes the book so interesting, I’ve never read a book that was based on a song. It was fun to study the lyrics and song.
It is a modern day fairy tale. It is a compelling story about family, fantasy, and true love.It has that romantic tension that will keep you reading till your eyes grow tired. I underlined so many quotes that inspired me.
The best part of this book for me, was the character Lucy. She is so likable, strong. She had amazing friends and family members who supported her. This was rare, since so many books you read about now a days is about broken families.
I got several of my professors at college to read this book and now they are teaching it in their Young Adult Literature classes! I absolutely love this book with so much passion. Its a must read!
Things to Watch Out for: Mental illness, non-descriptive rape, teen pregnancy, death, Elfin Knight, sexual references, and drinking.
