A true classic with a timeless message, The Story of Ferdinand has enchanted readers since it was first published in 1936. All the other bulls would run and jump and butt their heads together. But Ferdinand would rather sit and smell the flowers. And he does just that, until the day a bumblebee and some men from the Madrid bullfights give gentle Ferdinand a chance to be the most ferocious star of the corrida—and the most unexpected comic hero. This cherished hardcover is perfect for those who love Ferdinand, and those who have yet to meet him

My Review:

To be perfectly honest, I only read this book because I loved the movie so much haha. I had heard of this book before the movie came out, but never had the chance to read until now.  I don’t say this often but I liked the movie ten times better than the book. I thought the book was so boring! It isn’t my favorite children’s book out there. However, this book has been around for 70 years so there must be a reason why people love it so much.

Basically this is about a bull who doesn’t want to bullfight like the other bulls. He just wants to sit and smell flowers in the field. Can you blame him? Nope!

Ferdinand is easy to love and at the beginning is pretty cute. He has a gentle heart who turns to an even bigger bull with a gentle heart.

If I was reviewing the movie this would be polar opposite. The movie was dang good! I don’t pre-order movies often, but I pre-ordered that one.

Over all it was an okay book.
