Fifteen-year-old Rachel uses poetry and her Mormon faith to cope with grief over the loss of her father, the horrors of her brother's alcoholism, resentment of her new stepfather, and the awkwardness of having an attractive schoolmate as her stepbrother.
A Note From the Writer:
Hello everybody! I’m Cambria, a guest blogger for A Book Without Pages! I love books and I love writing. Sometimes when I read books I have to put them down just to think about the story! That’s how much I love reading. So hopefully I can review this book and help you, the readers, love books as much as me.
Review:
This book was very well written. Rachel Fletcher shows extreme courage throughout the entire book! Her dedication to her family is incredible. When her father dies, Rachel feels like it is entirely her fault. When her mother remarries, Rachel feels more pressured then ever. The only thing that makes her feel better is poetry and creative writing. This book was pretty good, but sad. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Watch Out For: Minimal cussing, extreme drinking, and sexual tension.
