Harry Potter has never played a sport while flying on a broomstick. He’s never worn a cloak of invisibility, befriended a giant, or helped hatch a dragon. All Harry knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn't had a birthday party in eleven years.
But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to a wonderful place he never dreamed existed. There he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic around every corner, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him…if Harry can survive the encounter.
My Review:
J.K Rowling has created a world that everyone wants to be apart off. She took the world by the storm, and taught people to love reading. This is the first installment to the Harry Potter Series and it is one of my favorites.
Harry is new to the idea of magic and that there is a different way of life out there. I feel like in a way he is just like us. We all live this average life and then one day something hits us and we are introduced to a whole new way of living. Harry starts out as such a sad miserable character and you really feel for him. I mean this poor little 11 year-old sleeps in a closet, wheres clothes that are too big for him, and has to put up with the Dursleys. And then when he goes to Hogwarts you see Harry really come out of his shell and become happy. He finds friends and becomes a kick trash seeker!
I could honestly say a million things about this book, but I won’t because I got to keep this review short. I know that some people often say that this series should not be read, but honestly I think that every person should read this book and series. I highly recommend this book and series!
Watch Out for: Fantasy creatures, fighting, death, chases, and kids are in peril often.
